I am committed to sustainability and want to positively impact the planet by reducing my environmental footprint. My mission is to lead the way in eco-friendly practices that are mindful at their core.

Amber Sterling & Gallery Climate Coalition

Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC) is an international community of arts organizations working to reduce our sector’s environmental impacts. In 2023, I became a member of GCC to help me understand my environmental impact and carbon footprint, and I aim to identify the best way to reduce them. GCC’s primary goal is to facilitate a reduction of the sector’s CO2e emissions by a minimum of 50% by 2030.

In light of their recommendations, I have tailored my working practices, and we will continue to do so in the years ahead.

Our environmental actions to date include:

• Adhere to California's energy efficiency standards by using LED lighting and working in a paperless office.
• Review the impact of business travel and artwork shipment by considering the lowest carbon footprint and shipping routes.
• Research on the most recent solutions for the art sector
• On the path to carbon neutral. We’re making incremental systematic changes in how we operate
• Use of sustainable drinks suppliers and reusable serving ware for events
• Green panels on topics from energy conservation, sustainable practices, and recycled materials
